"‘Pelt’ is a substance I created as a way of exploring a sense of becoming or transformation in material. Copper and silver are slowly grown into the moss-like plushness of velvet through electroforming. The word pelt incorporates references to the gravity of a warm animal body or a sun-drenched blanket of moss, but also in more general terms, something growing and alive."
